Carpenter ants may seem harmless, but they can be a nuisance. Once they find a damp and dark space to live in, they can begin to breed at a rapid pace. We at Advantage Pest Control have seen how carpenter ant infestations can get out of hand, if not treated in the early stages.
Signs You Have an Ant Infestation
- Look for a very high concentration of ants in specific areas, such as under your kitchen sink.
- Listen for sounds of an active ant colony. They will typically produce dry rustling noises which you can best hear at night when the house is quiet and the ant activity is higher. You can try to use a wine glass to listen to what’s happening behind the walls.
- You can also check whether winged reproductive ants are swarming and attempting to escape outdoors during springtime.
If you have noticed any of these signs and also the apparent presence of a large number of ants anywhere in your home, contact pest control professionals right away. They will use chemicals as well as physical control methods to eliminate the infestation.
